This Policy describes the information we collect from you and how we use that information. It applies to any of the Services that AppreciateMe or any of its affiliates provide.
Protecting your information—and being transparent about the ways we use it— is top of our priorities. This Policy governs data collection and usage. By accessing this WebApp, you agree to the terms and conditions of this Policy.
What We Collect
In order for you to create an Channel on AppreciateMe and use our Services, we need to collect and process some personally identifiable information. Depending on your use of the Services, that may include:
Information that you provide by completing forms on our Platform — your name, email address, telephone number, login, and password details or any other detail that is required by our payment proessors. We will ask for this information if you register as a user of the Services
Details of any requests or transactions you make through the Services. All payment information you submit is collected and used by our payment processors in accordance with their privacy policies. AppreciateMe doesn’t store your payment information apart from your account number, country which we require for government regulatory and security purposes
Information about your activity on and interaction with AppreciateMe (such as your IP address, the type of device or browser you use, and your actions on the site)
Communications you send to us (for example, when you ask for support, send us questions or comments, or report a problem); and Information that you submit to AppreciateMe in the form of comments, contributions to discussions, or messages to other users.
Please note that we do not collect any personally identifiable information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. However, once you register, your username and additional information regarding your activity is made public and will be used in communicating with you in relation to services and/or products you have requested from us.
You do not have a statutory obligation to provide us with any information, but you may have a contractual obligation to do so, and if we do not receive certain information from you, then we will not be able to provide our Service to you.
How we use this Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
To keep your Channel secure
To enable us to operate our Platform and provide you with our Services, and to improve, promote, and protect our Services
To tailor content we display to you and offers we think may be of interest to you
To track use of the Services so that we can improve AppreciateMe
How this Information is shared
When you create an Channel, we create a basic profile page for you on AppreciateMe, containing your Channel name, the date the Channel was created, and a list of campaigns you have backed or launched. Whenever your Channel name appears on AppreciateMe (for instance, when you post comments, send messages, or support campaigns), people can click your Channel name to see your profile. Here are some of the things that will be publicly viewable on your profile, or elsewhere on AppreciateMe
The Channel name, and the date it was created
Any information you choose to add to your profile (like a picture, bio, or your location)
Campaigns you've supported and launched
Any comments you’ve posted on AppreciateMe
If you have "Liked" a campaign update
Please note that each campaign category lists the community of users who have backed/supported the campaigns.
Campaign Owners are also asked to verify their identities before launching a campaign. Once this has been done, the Campaign Owner’s Verified Name will be publicly displayed on their Channel profile and on any campaign they launch.
Information that isn’t shared publicly
The following data will not be publicly displayed or revealed to other users:
Any payment information you provide
Your password details
Your IP address
Your phone number; and
Communications you send to us (for example, when you ask for support, send us questions or comments, or report a problem)
We never post anything to your Facebook, Twitter, or other third-party accounts without your permission. We do not and will not sell your data.
Do Not Track
Do Not Track (DNT) is a privacy preference that users can set in some web browsers, allowing users to opt out of tracking by websites and online services. We do not honor browser requests not to be tracked online (known as “Do Not Track”), as we keep track of the websites and pages our users visit within AppreciateMe, in order to determine which services are most popular and deliver customized content and advertising to our clients.
Information that’s shared with trusted third-party services
We may share your information with certain trusted third-party services to help us provide, improve, promote, or protect AppreciateMe’s Services (like when we partner with payment processors, or use services that help us manage our ads on other sites). AppreciateMe does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties for marketing purposes without your explicit consent. When we share data with third-party services that support our delivery of the AppreciateMe Services, we require that they use your information only for the purposes we’ve authorized, and that they protect your personal information at least to the same standards we do. We may also share information that’s aggregated and anonymized in a way that it doesn’t directly identify you.
AppreciateMe may disclose your personal information, without notice, if it is required to do so by law or that doing so is reasonably necessary to comply with legal processes or it is appropriate to disclose personal information to law enforcement authorities.
Information that’s shared with Campaign Owners & collaborators
When you support a campaign, the Campaign Owners will know your name (if you allow it) and the amount you have pledged. Campaign Owners never receive Contributors’ credit card details or other payment information.
Email Communications
From time to time, AppreciateMe may contact you via email for the purpose of providing announcements, promotional offers, alerts, confirmations, surveys, and/or other general communication. We want to communicate with you only if you want to hear from us. We try to keep emails to a minimum and give you the ability to opt out of any marketing communications we send.
Access to Your Information
To modify or delete the personal information you’ve provided to us, please log in and update your profile. We may retain certain information as required by law or for necessary business purposes.
On request, we will give you a copy of all the personal information about you that we hold. This information is subject to a fee not exceeding the prescribed fee permitted by law.
Security of your Personal Information
We strive to take appropriate security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or damage but no security is guaranteed.
When you enter sensitive information (such as credit card number), we encrypt the transmission of that information using Secure Socket Layer protocol (“SSL”).
While we do our best to protect your personal information and employ strict procedures to prevent unauthorized access, we do not warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and by registering to use this service, you agree to keep your password in strict confidence and not disclose such password to any third party.
Information that you submit through the Services may be transferred to countries other than where you reside (for example, to our servers). We will protect all information we receive in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Updating Your Informationy
We take steps to ensure that the personal information we collect is accurate and up to date, and we provide you with the opportunity to update your information through your Channel profile settings. In the event that you believe your information is in any way incorrect or inaccurate, please let us know immediately. When updating your personal information, we will ask you to verify your identity before we can act on your request. If for any reason you have a problem with deleting your personal information, please contact AppreciateMe’s Customer Support and we will make reasonable efforts to delete any such information pursuant to any applicable privacy laws.
You can review and change your personal information by logging into the Site and visiting your Channel profile page.
Children Under the Age of 13
AppreciateMe does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. Parents and guardians should at all times supervise their children's activities. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that personal information.
Intellectual Property Rights
The contents of the WebApp, including, without limitation, its “look and feel” (e.g., text, graphics, images, logos and button icons), photographs, editorial content, notices, software (including, without limitation, html-based computer programs), trademarks, trade names and/or service marks, and all materials incorporated herein are protected under intellectual property laws. The contents of the WebApp belong or are licensed to Zoeafountain Limited or its software or content suppliers. You may download or print a copy of information provided on the WebApp for your personal, internal and non-commercial use only. Any distribution, reprint or electronic reproduction of any content from the WebApp in whole or in part for any other purpose is expressly prohibited without our prior written consent.
